Location

Casas Novas is on the South and West side of the village of Assumar.

The estate is approximately 200 km East of Lisbon, close to the Spanish border.

It is 35 km north of Estremoz and 20 km south of the city of Portalegre.

Neighbouring villages are Urra (North), Arronches (East) and Monforte (South). The drive is approximately 2 hours from Lisbon airport.

If travelling from the UK to Santander or Bilbao in Northern Spain by ferry, the drive is 8 to 9 hours.

How to get here

If you’re coming from Lisbon on the A2, follow the sign to Spain/Évora (A6); in Estremoz take the IP2 (Monforte/Portalegre), and then exit at the EN371, at km 194, towards Assumar. Casas Novas is the first house on your left before you enter the village.

If you’re travelling in the direction of Elvas/Assumar, follow the EN246 and then the EN371, and exit at km 194, towards Assumar. Casas Novas is the first house on your left before you enter the village.

If you’re travelling from Badajoz on the A6 Lisbon/Badajoz, exit at Estremoz and take the IP2, towards Monforte. Then exit at the EN371, at km 194, towards Assumar. Casas Novas is the first house on your left before you enter the village.

If you’re travelling from Porto along the A1, carry on until Torres Novas, where you take the A23. The follow the exit 15 (Portalegre/Nisa) and proceed in IP2 towards Portalegre. Continue on the IP2 (Estremoz) and exit at the EN371, at km 194, towards Assumar. Casas Novas is the first house on your left before you enter the village.
