The Estate

Casas Novas is a luxury villa ideal for vacation, a conference or a major celebration. The villa sleeps 14 and is situated in rural Portugal in the beautiful Alentejo. Lisbon Airport is 2 hours away, Faro 3,5 hours and Madrid 4,5 hours. Casas Novas is in the idyllic Alentejo village of Assumar. The main house dates back to the later half of the 18th century. Supposedly it was then a pousada catering to travellers on the road between Lisbon and Mérida. The last few years it has been extensively renovated by its former and present owners. The property is on the South and West side of the village. The grounds are private and cover 10 000 square meters. The house is ca 800 square meters and easily accommodates 14 persons. There are 7 bedrooms, 5 bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, 2 bedrooms share a bathroom. 6 bedrooms have twin beds, one has a double bed. |

Ground floor
On the ground floor are 4 guest suites with private bathrooms. Here is also the hall with adjacent wardrobe and WC, the playroom with pool table and mini football and the wine room (to be).

1st floor
On the 1st floor is a balcony of 100 square metres with a commanding view of the gently rolling hills to the South and to the West. The kitchen, spacious living and dining rooms, a library and a bedroom with en suite facilities are also on this floor.

Kitchen
The kitchen is fully modern and very well equipped with two ovens, microwave, 2 x 3 ceramic induction plates, an American fridge and two dishwashers etc.

2nd floor
On the 2nd floor are two bedrooms sharing a bathroom. There is also a kitchenette with extra fridge and freezer as well as washing machine and tumble drier.

Pool area
The new swimming pool is 8 x 14 m and saline. Around the pool are a large xisto terrace and a shaded area with tables and chairs.

If the seven bedrooms and fourteen beds of Casas Novas are not enough for your purposes, additional bedrooms can be rented at the beautiful B&B, Casa de Assumar, only 2 minutes walk from Casas Novas.
Our guests are offered free use of the Internet through the wifi connection of the property.
For entertainment there is a home cinema with a 46" flat screen TV, DVD player and surround sound.
